Every girl and young woman who wants to have adventures, learn, laugh and make friends for life, is welcome to join in the fun of Girlguiding.
We run, slide, climb, row, walk, paddle, skip and whizz our way through challenging activities. We laugh all the way and encourage each other to keep on going, ignore the mud on our faces, and never mind which one of us capsizes the canoe or stumbles on the slack line.
From camping abroad and canoeing to getting stuck into our amazing new programme and partying at the unmissable Tartan Gig, there’s something for every girl to get excited about.
Guiding is divided into four sections:
Each section follows its own specific programme which is tailored to the needs of today’s girl. The programme is up to date and relevant and it allows girls to be challenged and enjoy activities that they may not otherwise get the chance to do eg. abseiling, climbing, bungee trampolining, international opportunities and community service.
Rainbows (aged 5-7 years) is exciting, messy, friendly and a lot of fun!
- 1st Bridge of Weir Rainbows meet in St Machars Church Hall - Tuesday 6.15-7.15pm
- 2nd Bridge of Weir Rainbows meet in St Machars Church Hall – Wednesday 6-7pm
Brownies (aged 7-10 years) introduces girls to a world of new opportunities, fun as well as taking on new challenges and realising their full potential.
- 3rd and 3rd A Bridge of Weir Brownie Units meet in Freeland Church Halls – Wednesday 6.30-8pm
Guides (aged 10-14 Years) have an exciting and varied programme designed to inspire, challenge and encourage girls to make a difference in their community.
- 1st Bridge of Weir Guides meet in St Machar's Church Hall - Wednesday 7.30-9pm
- 2nd Bridge of Weir Guides meet in St Machar's Church Hall - Tuesday 7.30-9pm
Rangers (aged 14-18 years) programme reflects the lives of young women today, and supports them to find the roles and opportunities they need to have fun, succeed and thrive in the 21st century.
- Bridge of Weir & Kilmacolm Ranger Unit meet alternate Thursday evenings in Kilmacolm Guide Hut
