The Boys' Brigade

The Boys' Brigade is one of the biggest Christian Youth Organisations in the UK & Republic of Ireland.

We are committed to seeing lives enriched by supporting children and young people to reach their full potential by providing opportunities to meet together and engage in a range of fun and developmental activities and experiences.

There’s something for every young person whether it’s camping or kayaking, first aid or five a side. Members develop skills, build confidence, make friends, take responsibility and are encouraged to make a real difference in their communities - sharing the values that make us who we are.

The Object of The Boys' Brigade is:
"The advancement of Christ's kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness."

The Boys' Brigade Motto is:
'Sure & Steadfast'
The motto is taken from the bible, the book of Hebrews, Chapter 6, Verse 19.

Our Patron is:
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

1st Bridge of Weir Boys' Brigade

The 1st Bridge of Weir Boys' Brigade is sponsored by St Machar's Ranfurly Church and Freeland Church. Both ministers are chaplains to the company.

Typical evenings will include games, exploring a Bible story, and badge work in a range of areas. There are regular opportunities to take part in regional competitions of various kinds, as well as exciting outings and trips. All leaders are trained and PVG checked.

Boys from 5 upwards are welcome to join.

Anchor Boys (5-8 yr olds) meet on Thursday nights during school term in Freeland Church Hall from 6:30-7:30pm.

Junior Section (8-11 yr olds) meet on Friday nights in St Machar's Ranfurly Church Hall from 6:30-8pm.

Company Section (11-15 yr olds) and Senior Section (15-18) meet on Friday nights in Freeland Church Hall from 7:30-9:30pm.
